Samsung has released two new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Fold6 and Galaxy Flip6, but according to Samsung CEO Chung Yi, more smartphones in different form factors are on the way. This was reported by TechRadar.
At the iMid 2024 conference, Cheung Yi said that the company is working on a smartphone that can be folded in half and a smartphone that can be twisted. No timeline for the launch of smartphones in the new form factors was mentioned.
This news will come as no surprise to longtime Samsung fans, not least because the company has a rich history of trying out innovations and ideas before they become mainstream-folding phones being one example.
The company has already demonstrated a Rollable Flex display that can be rolled up last year. So work on this technology has been going on for a long time. The question is how quickly it can be prepared for mass production at a price that is not excessive.
According to previous leaks, Samsung will introduce smartphones in new form factors in 2025.
