Meta plans to present a new low-cost VR headset at the annual Connect conference to be held on September 25-26, 2024. It is reported by Bloomberg.
We are talking about a device called Quest 3S, which could potentially cost $300 or $400. This is cheaper compared to $500 for the Quest 3 headset. The price of the new product will potentially be lower because the company can sell the headset without controllers.
With the launch of the new product, Meta expects to attract more people to its ecosystem. The cheaper version of Quest could give Meta an even bigger price advantage over Apple, which sells the Vision Pro for $3500.
In addition to the budget VR headset, Meta is preparing to present a prototype of Orion augmented reality glasses at the upcoming event.
In the fall of 2023, Meta introduced Quest 3, a mixed reality headset that allows users to interact with the real world and immerse themselves in virtual worlds.
One of Quest 3's standout features is its full-color front-facing cameras, which provide enhanced end-to-end video quality that allows you to interact with both virtual and real-world objects.
