Insta360 is preparing to release the Link 2 webcam without a motorized mechanism, but at a reduced cost
In 2022, Insta360 introduced the Link webcam. It featured pan, tilt, and zoom, and people tracking, which gave you the freedom to move around the room. It looks like a sequel is on the way, but it will significantly change the formula.
Images and specifications of the Insta360 Link 2 have been leaked online. As you can see in the renders, the motorized pan and tilt mechanism is no longer there. This will make the device more compact. Link 2 will still be able to track objects in OIS style. To do this, it will tilt the lens.
In terms of specifications, Insta360 Link 2 will have a 1/2" sensor and f/1.8 lens. It will be able to shoot video in 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps.
The new model will cost $200. That's $100 cheaper than the original version of Link was asking for.
