In July 2024, Windows 11 achieved an important result: for the first time since its launch in October 2021, Microsoft's operating system exceeded 30% market share, Neowin reports. According to the latest Statcounter data, Windows 11 reached a new all-time high of 30.83% last month, up from 23.66% in July 2023.

While Windows 11's market share is increasing, Windows 10's continues to decline. The old operating system now holds 64.99% of the market, down from 71.14% in July 2023. As support for Windows 10 comes to an end in about a year, its market share is expected to decline even faster. However, the Extended Security Update program and third-party services such as 0patch will help keep the OS popular for a few more years.

In addition, the launch of Copilot+ computers has caused a significant stir in the Windows market. While it's too early to say that the new Windows 11 PCs powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors will significantly contribute to the adoption of the OS, Qualcomm and its partners plan to release more ARM-based devices, including models aimed at business users. The upcoming back-to-school season is also likely to accelerate sales of Windows 11 PCs.

It is important to note that Statcounter reports are not 100% accurate, and only Microsoft can provide the most reliable data. However, the company does not publish detailed information on market segmentation.
