Details of more than 10,000 employees from about 900 companies, including Dell, Verizon, AT&T, and many others, were leaked online. The reason was Simpli software, which had a public web catalog. This was reported by TechCrunch.
This information was found by researchers from Cybernews, who stumbled upon a web directory that stored backup copies of the company's program and website database. Employees of the companies subscribed to the Simpli service using corporate addresses.
Confidential information was disclosed through the ordering of programs and notes, making about 900 companies vulnerable to data theft. Among other things, hashed passwords and details of meetings were found, describing their purpose and the list of participants.
The Simpli program allowed employees to rent office space and browse other stores in the building. The program also provides information on the list of all services, goods, amenities, workplace benefits, and discounts.
