EcoFlow has introduced perhaps the most unconventional technology you can carry around: EcoFlow Power Hat. This is a hat equipped with solar panels that can charge your smartphone on the go.
The $129 Power Hat features solar cells made of monocrystalline silicon, a thin and flexible material. It provides approximately 12 watts of charging power through the hat's built-in USB-A and USB-C connectors.
According to EcoFlow, the hat can fully charge a smartphone with a 4000 mAh battery in about 3-4 hours, making it suitable for staying connected while camping or hiking, provided the weather is sunny, of course.
The Power Hat weighs 370 grams and is IP65 rated, which means it is dustproof and can withstand water jets from any direction. However, it is advisable to avoid getting water on the USB ports.
The Power Hat comes in two adjustable size ranges: 56-58 cm for the smaller size and 59-61 cm for the larger size. The hat is available for pre-order until August 31, and EcoFlow plans to start shipping it by mid-September.
