iPhone users are complaining that Sonos' new mobile app for controlling speakers and soundbars consumes excessive power and causes their iOS smartphones to drain quickly. The company is releasing an update that will fix this problem. This is reported by TechRadar.
A company representative said in a Sonos subreddit that the iOS app has received a fresh update. The update is aimed at fixing excessive smartphone battery usage and should improve the stability of the app.
A few days ago, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence apologized for the failed launch of the app. He promised to add features missing from the release and restore user confidence.
Users continue to report issues with the app crashing and not being able to find Sonos systems. The update should resolve this issue as well.
Sonos is still working on future improvements and bug fixes, with the next update scheduled for next week. The August 2024 update will focus on fixing issues with the music library, volume sensitivity, overall user interface improvements, and system error handling.
In September and October, we plan to improve alarms, change settings, and restore the queue and playlist editing mode.
Version 80.05.05 of the Sonos app is now available on iOS and iPadOS.
