Electronic Arts has published the results of the first quarter of fiscal year 2025. Despite the fact that revenues decreased compared to the last fiscal year, they still exceeded expectations. This was reported by Insider Gaming.
In the first quarter, the company generated $1.660 billion in revenue, down 14% year-on-year.
In the second quarter of fiscal year 2025, the company plans to generate $1.9 to $2 billion in revenue. For the entire fiscal year, EA wants to generate $7.1 to $7.5 billion.
The company's net profit amounted to $280 million, which is 30% less than in the first quarter of FY2024.
According to the company, the revenues were mainly driven by the strong performance of Madden NFL 24, FC Online, and FC Mobile. Further, EA plans to release new Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Madden NFL 25, EA Sports FC 25, and NHL 25.
Earlier it was reported that in fiscal year 2024, EA paid executives more than $60 million in bonuses, despite the fact that the company laid off about 700 employees in early 2024.
