Spotify users who don't pay for a subscription will once again be able to see lyrics on the streaming service without any restrictions. This was reported by Engadget.
The streaming service took such actions after users' dissatisfaction. The fact is that in May 2024, Spotify decided to introduce restrictions. According to them, free users could see the lyrics of only three songs per month.
Now Spotify has decided to abandon this restriction. They promise to cancel it in the near future.
"Over the coming weeks, we’ll be expanding Lyrics availability for Spotify Free users so more people can enjoy viewing more lyrics, globally,” said a Spotify representative.
Recently, it was reported that Spotify's profit in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 45% to €1.11 billion ($1.21 billion) compared to the same period in 2023. The streaming service's revenue increased by 20% to EUR 3.81 billion in the same period.
