Apple Intelligence, a set of features based on artificial intelligence, will be released later than expected. Apple will start rolling out the update in October 2024, a few weeks after the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. It is reported by Bloomberg.
The release of new versions of the iPhone and iPad operating systems is scheduled for September, and a set of AI features was supposed to be released at the same time. However, according to people familiar with the matter, Apple decided to postpone the release to focus on bug fixes.
Nevertheless, Apple Intelligence will be available to developers earlier - with the release of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta versions.
This is a rather atypical situation, as the company usually does not release a preview of new features so long before the full release, but this time such a decision was made in order to identify and eliminate as many problems and bugs as possible.
Among other things, if Apple has indeed postponed the release of Apple Intelligence to October, there is a possibility that the iPhone 16 line, which will be presented in September and whose key feature is supposed to be a set of AI functions, will appear on the market without them.
