Multiplayer zombie apocalypse survival simulator 7 Days to Die has finally been released from early access, where it had been for 11 years, PC Gamer writes.
The completed game features new high-resolution character models, a new player armor and clothing system, new animal models, a new test system, new vehicles, new zombie model options, character progress settings, lighting updates, and many, many optimizations in the game code.
7 Days to Die is a classic sandbox game with procedural location generation, crafting, and base building. The game may seem outdated to some, and it is not surprising, as it was developed in 2013. The year when The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. In the year when PlayStation 4 and Xbox One first went on sale.
Nevertheless, players are equally appreciative of the game. 7 Days to Die has 83% positive reviews on Steam. The Fun Pimps development studio outlived its publisher Telltale Games.
On Steam, the game has an ID of 251570 - modern games receive an ID with a number exceeding 3 million. Despite all the criticism of early access, it has become a way to fund long-term open source development after the initial hype around the release has already died down.
Perhaps the release of Project Zomboid is just around the corner?
