CrowdStrike President and CEO George Kurtz commented in X on the situation with the massive failure of Windows devices caused by the company's software update.

He acknowledged that it was not a security incident or cyberattack, but a company error. The fix is now in place.

"CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed," Kurtz wrote.

He added that all customers are now being directed to the support portal for the latest updates on how to resolve the issue. For more information on the issue, please visit the company's website.

Kurtz also advised organizations to contact CrowdStrike representatives through official channels and added that the entire team is currently working to ensure security and stability for all customers.

As a reminder, on the morning of Friday, July 19, 2024, thousands of Windows computers began to see the blue screen of death. Many companies, including Ukrainian ones, have experienced outages.
