In order for artificial intelligence to choose a photo instead of users, they will need to take one selfie for face recognition and provide access to the gallery. After that, the system will select a few of the best photos in its opinion and offer users to make the final choice.
Tinder says that this feature will help users find soul mates on the platform faster, instead of spending an average of 33 minutes on selecting the best photo for their profile.
"By alleviating the burden of photo selection, Photo Selector empowers users to focus more on making meaningful connections rather than spending excessive time on photo selection. This AI innovation promises to inject more spontaneity into the online dating experience," the company said in a statement.
The feature will first be launched for users in the United States in July, followed by updates in other countries.
