The public beta of the new operating systems iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18 has started. The announced artificial intelligence features of Apple Intelligence will be launched later. It is reported by The Verge.
The public beta of iOS 18 will bring key updates to the software, such as support for the RCS protocol for messaging, new customization options, and more.
Photos will also receive updates, including the ability to recover lost photos, more settings, and dark mode icons. And iPadOS 18 will get a new advanced Calculator for the first time in many years.
The latest Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence features will be available in the fall of 2025. They will be supported only by iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max and later models, as well as Macs and iPad M1 and later versions.
For Mac computers, the Sequoia beta, among other features, allows you to display information from your iPhone. And the tvOS 18 beta includes InSight, an Amazon X-Ray-like feature for Apple TV Plus content.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you'll be able to revert to the stable version of the operating system on all devices except Apple Watch. Keep this in mind before installing the beta on your Apple Watch.
You can try public beta versions of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and other operating systems by signing up for Apple's beta testing program. Installation instructions for each device can be found here.
