Rumors that Xbox was going to raise prices for Game Pass have been circulating for a long time and have finally been confirmed. The company has raised prices, made changes to existing plans, and introduced a new plan - Standard. This was reported by Windows Central.
Starting September 12, 2024, the price of Game Pass Ultimate, PC, and Core subscriptions will change for existing users worldwide. The PC plan will rise in price from $9.99 to $11.99 (from 190 to 230 UAH for Ukraine), the Ultimate price will rise to $19.99, Core will undergo changes in the annual subscription - $74.99 instead of $59.99, but the price of $9.99 per month remains.
The Game Pass for Console plan will no longer be available to new users, and the key reason for this is changes to the release of games on the first day of the subscription. From now on, you will be able to play new titles on the day of their release in only a few plans - Game Pass for Consoles, PC, and Ultimate. In Core and the new Standard plan, games will not be available on release day.
As for Standard, it is a new tariff that will cost $14.99 per month. It will give users access to multiplayer, the entire Xbox game catalog, but this subscription does not include access to cloud gaming and games on their release day.
