Android Authority, thanks to an insider inside Google, was able to get a lot of new details about the Pixel Watch 3 smartwatch before its official announcement.
The watch will come in two sizes - 41 mm with a resolution of 408 × 408 pixels and 45 mm with a resolution of 456 × 456. There will also be both cellular and Wi-Fi versions. The smaller model will have a 310 mAh battery, while the larger one will have a 420 mAh battery.
Pixel Watch 3 will also have smaller bezels. The new model will have 4.5 mm bezels, while the Watch 2 had 5.5 mm bezels. In addition, the new watch will have twice the maximum brightness - 2000 nits compared to 1000 nits in the previous model.
On the eve of the Pixel Watch 2 release, there were rumors that the watch might support Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, but later it became known that Google abandoned this idea at the last minute. However, it seems that UWB will appear in the Pixel Watch 3. This is evidenced by the publication's insider, as well as FCC licensing.
The smaller version of the watch will have four color options: a gray, black, or gold bezel, and a walnut, porcelain, obsidian, or pink strap. The larger Pixel Watch 3 model will have a walnut, black, or gray bezel and a walnut, obsidian, or porcelain strap.
Another minor detail that the publication was able to obtain is the animation that will be used on the watch on store shelves to attract the attention of customers. It does not reveal any details of the device, but it looks quite nice.
