Players of the urban planning simulator Cities: Skylines II are celebrating the release of the "Bye Bye Homeless" mod, which automatically removes homeless people from the city if they cannot find a place to live within 1.5 hours of play time. This mod solves a bug where cities were filled with homeless people, 404 Media reports.
The mod was developed by wxdao and published on the mods.paradoxplaza platform. The mod allows you to customize the period and method of eviction of citizens: allow them to leave the city or simply delete them.
The essence of the bug with homeless citizens is that instead of leaving the city or finding new housing, homeless residents "hang out" in the "MovingAway" state or endlessly search for new housing.
Even the availability of free housing in the city did not solve this problem. The growing number of homeless people has led to an increase in crime in cities and the formation of crowds of homeless people in public cities.
Reports of virtual homelessness first appeared on the game's forum on June 25, when a player reported that a recent update to the game had flooded his city with "homeless robbers," and other players responded by saying they had the same problem.
“This is terrible, before there were just flocks of homeless people, but now they also rob,” writes a Cities: Skylines II player.
Reddit users report that the modification really solves the problem and saves many virtual cities.
