The indie game publisher Versus Evil was closed on Christmas Eve, and all employees were fired. The company announced this on its social media on December 22.

The head of production Lance James at X also said that the decision to close was not made by the company. He also confirmed that the entire team had been fired.
On the eve of the news of the company's closure, TinyBuild, which acquired Versus Evil in 2021, also announced that it would not reach its revenue forecast.
Founded in 2013, the company has published indie games, including The Banner Saga series, Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition, and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, Mothergunship, and others.
