The sequel to Capcom's action/RPG Dragon's Dogma (2012) has finally received a release date. Dragon's Dogma 2 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC on Steam (unfortunately with Denuvo Anti-tamper protection) March 22, 2024.
Hideaki Itsuno, the designer and creative director of the original Dragon's Dogma, agreed to take on the sequel immediately after the release of the first part, but Dragon's Dogma 2 was not announced until 2022.
The game is powered by the RE Engine (Devil May Cry 5, Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Rise, and the Resident Evil series since 2017) and will feature new locations, new monsters, specializations, and an improved character editor.
The original Dragon's Dogma was released on PlayStation 3/4, Xbox 360/One, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch and sold 7.2 million copies. In 2020, Netflix released an animated series based on the game.
