Apple is preparing a software update to address the excessive radiation levels of the iPhone 12 reported in France. This is reported by Engadget with reference to Reuters.
This refers to a recent statement by the French national frequency Agency ANFR. It notified Apple of the decision to ban sales of the smartphone after tests revealed above-threshold levels of iPhone 12 radiation. At the same time, French Digital Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said that a software update may be sufficient to solve the problem.
Apple noted that the phone has been certified by many international organizations as compliant with global standards for radiation levels. However, the company will release a software update to comply with the protocol used by French regulators.
The American tech giant also expects "the iPhone 12 to continue to be available in France."
As you know, in 2020, France expanded the rules requiring retailers to indicate the electromagnetic radiation of products on their packaging. This applies to mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.
