Insiders report that the cost of the Pixel 8 flagship smartphone may increase by $50-100 compared to its predecessor. If the Pixel 7 cost $599 at the time of release, the Pixel 8 will receive a price tag of $649 or $699.
Such a change is unlikely to please Pixel fans, but it is not unexpected. In particular, the Pixel 7a started to cost $50 more than the Pixel 6a, and flagship smartphones from other top brands are also increasing in price.
However, it should be noted that the Pixel 8 should receive several significant upgrades. One of them concerns the under-display fingerprint scanner - Google will abandon the optical sensor in favor of an ultrasonic one.
