Samsung starts sales of the ViewFinity S9 monitor in South Korea, where the new product is estimated at about $1,300. First shown at CES 2023 earlier this year, the device is the successor to the ViewFinity S8.
ViewFinity S9 (S90PC) is equipped with an IPS panel with a resolution of 5120x2880 pixels (218 PPI pixel density). Thanks to this, users can edit 4K images and videos without changing their scale. The refresh rate is 60 Hz. The monitor has 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The position of the screen is adjustable in different directions.
The ViewFinity S9 screen has a matte coating that will eliminate glare. The display is calibrated at the factory, but Samsung also offers a quick calibration feature via the SmartThings app. The Thunderbolt 4 port supports charging of connected devices with a power of up to 90 W. The monitor runs on the Tizen operating system and offers a variety of audio and video streaming applications. Built-in speakers are also provided, and the kit includes a 4K Slim Fit webcam that attaches using magnets.
