Portable gaming system ASUS ROG Ally has a much more powerful platform than its main competitor, Steam Deck: it runs on AMD's new Ryzen Z1 series processor, which is based on the Zen 4 microarchitecture.
This processor has support for the AVX512 instruction set which makes it very attractive for running game console emulators, because they use computations that get a significant performance boost thanks to AVX512 support.
The channel host was able to get almost stable 1080p@60 fps in God of War (PS3) although it was one of the few games that had to raise the console's TDP to 25-30W. The rest of the games showed an acceptable frame rate with a TDP of 7-15 W, which is much better from the point of view of autonomous operation.
