Realme has released a new GT Neo 5 model with 240W charging support, which has become the smartphone with the fastest charging on the market. For those to whom such power seems excessive, a version of the device with a 150 W charger is offered.
Realme GT Neo 5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The 240 W version of the device has 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 1 TB of storage. The 150 W modification is offered in configurations of 8/12/16 GB of RAM plus 256 GB of storage. The smartphone received a 6.74" 10-bit AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The resolution is 2772x1240 pixels.
The camera unit of the GT Neo 5 includes a main 50 MP IMX890 sensor (OIS, f/1.9), an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle module and a 2 MP macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 16 MP.
The 240W version of the gadget has a 4600mAh battery and comes with a 20V/12A charger. It can charge a smartphone up to 20% in 80 seconds, up to 50% in 4 minutes, and up to 100% in less than 10 minutes. Even 30 seconds of charging gives you the opportunity to talk on the phone for 2 hours. The 150 W version was equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. The kit includes a 20 V/8 A adapter.
The company notes that engineers have provided an effective heat dissipation system, so during charging tests the smartphone did not heat up by more than 10 degrees. The device is able to withstand 1600 charges from 0 to 100% and at the same time preserve 80% of the battery resource during four years of use. Realme even has a certificate from TUV Rheinland, which indicates the safety of such a fast charging system.
On the back cover of the GT Neo 5, there is an RGB LED rectangle that can be used as a notification indicator and can also be configured for different applications. It also glows red when the battery charge is less than 20%.
Realme GT Neo 5 is offered in three colors: white, black and purple. The cost of the 240 W version ranges from $470 to $515. The 150 W version can be purchased for $368 to $427.
