NVIDIA company in another news release announced the expansion of the line of graphics adapters with two modifications of video cards - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GDDR6X and GeForce RTX 3060 8 GB. The novelties will be available from November. Software support has already been added in today's GeForce 526.47 WHQL driver release.
NVIDIA's partners began to demonstrate their versions of adapters even before the official release, so we already have a certain idea about the capabilities of video cards.
In particular, the GeForce RTX 3060 8 GB, in addition to reducing the total memory capacity from 12 GB to 8 GB, also got a 128-bit bus instead of a 192-bit one. GDDR6 operating frequencies remained at the same level - 15,000 MHz, so the total memory bandwidth decreased from 360 GB/c to 240 GB/c. Otherwise, the technical specifications of video cards remained unchanged.

In turn, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB GDDR6X, on the contrary, became a more productive modification compared to the base model. The latter is equipped with GDDR6 chips with an effective operating frequency of 14,000 MHz, while the new modification received GDDR6X memory chips that operate at an effective 19,000 MHz. Since the bit rate of the bus in both cases is 256 bits, the bandwidth has increased from 448 GB/c to 608 GB/c. The configuration of the GA104 functional blocks has not changed, so obviously models with GDDR6X will offer more fps.
Recommended prices for GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB GDDR6X and GeForce RTX 3060 8 GB have not yet been announced, rather the initiative will be given to direct video card manufacturers.
