The Supervisory Board of Columbia University in New York, which annually awards the most prestigious Pulitzer Prize in literature, journalism, music and theater, this year honored all Ukrainian journalists for covering the Russian invasion, including the authors of Mezha.

Despite bombardment, abductions, occupation, and even deaths in their ranks, they have persisted in their effort to provide an accurate picture of a terrible reality, doing honor to Ukraine and to journalists around the world."Special Citations is a Pulitzer Prize nomination that highlights outstanding cultural and public figures who could not be honored with any of the existing nominations. This award is presented irregularly - since 1930, only 44 laureates have been honored.
